About Bankole Abejide
Founder & Visionary
Bankole Abejide is a Canadian-Nigerian philanthropist and the founder of the Abejide Bankole Foundation. Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he has dedicated his life to empowering African diaspora communities and supporting vulnerable populations in Nigeria.
From Newcomer to Change-Maker
When Bankole relocated from Nigeria to Canada, he experienced firsthand the challenges every immigrant faces—navigating unfamiliar systems, finding employment, and building community from scratch. But rather than simply overcoming these obstacles, he transformed them into a mission.
His early struggles became the blueprint for a foundation that now supports hundreds of African newcomers through settlement services, employment programs, education scholarships, and cultural connection initiatives.
A Bidirectional Vision
Bankole’s leadership is defined by a unique philosophy: success in the diaspora creates responsibility toward communities back home. Under his guidance, the foundation operates on two continents—helping African immigrants thrive in Canada while supporting orphanages, sponsoring students, and partnering with caregivers in Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria.
Core Values
Dignity First: Bankole treats every person as a partner, not a recipient, honoring their strengths while addressing their needs.
Holistic Support: He recognizes that people need more than jobs—they need community, cultural connection, and comprehensive care.
Sustainable Impact: Building lasting relationships and systems, not just one-time interventions.
The Impact
From providing temporary housing to newcomers to sponsoring JAMB registration for Nigerian students, from computer training programs to orphanage support, Bankole has created a model of diaspora philanthropy that bridges continents and transforms lives.
