Transforming Lives Through Compassion and Service

At the Abejide Bankole Foundation, we believe love is the greatest force for change. Through education, healthcare, and community empowerment initiatives, we are creating opportunities and restoring hope across Nigeria — one life at a time.

Our Story

The Abejide Bankole Foundation was born from a simple truth: the challenges of building a new life in Canada and the needs of communities back home are not separate issues—they're two sides of the same story. When Bankole Abejide relocated from Nigeria to Winnipeg, Manitoba, he experienced firsthand the struggles every newcomer faces—navigating unfamiliar systems, finding employment, building community, and maintaining connection to home. But he also discovered something powerful: the informal networks of support that sustained him could become something bigger. The turning point came when a fellow Nigerian professional was sleeping in his car during a Manitoba winter, and when news arrived that children in an orphanage in Ado-Ekiti lacked basic supplies. In that moment, Bankole realized that success carries responsibility—not just to thrive personally, but to create pathways for others.

About Bankole Abejide

Bankole Abejide, Canada-based Nigerian philanthropist and founder of Abejide Bankole Foundation supporting African diaspora communities

Founder & Visionary

Bankole Abejide is a Canadian-Nigerian philanthropist and the founder of the Abejide Bankole Foundation. Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he has dedicated his life to empowering African diaspora communities and supporting vulnerable populations in Nigeria.

From Newcomer to Change-Maker

When Bankole relocated from Nigeria to Canada, he experienced firsthand the challenges every immigrant faces—navigating unfamiliar systems, finding employment, and building community from scratch. But rather than simply overcoming these obstacles, he transformed them into a mission.

His early struggles became the blueprint for a foundation that now supports hundreds of African newcomers through settlement services, employment programs, education scholarships, and cultural connection initiatives.

A Bidirectional Vision

Bankole’s leadership is defined by a unique philosophy: success in the diaspora creates responsibility toward communities back home. Under his guidance, the foundation operates on two continents—helping African immigrants thrive in Canada while supporting orphanages, sponsoring students, and partnering with caregivers in Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria.

Core Values

Dignity First: Bankole treats every person as a partner, not a recipient, honoring their strengths while addressing their needs.

Holistic Support: He recognizes that people need more than jobs—they need community, cultural connection, and comprehensive care.

Sustainable Impact: Building lasting relationships and systems, not just one-time interventions.

The Impact

From providing temporary housing to newcomers to sponsoring JAMB registration for Nigerian students, from computer training programs to orphanage support, Bankole has created a model of diaspora philanthropy that bridges continents and transforms lives.
